Hi Kelly, You have raised an excellent question. Typically cables and helical earth anchors. Flooding at the tank location would be shallow 0.0 to .75 ft. due to the land elevation but……….a lingering tidal flood, unlikely though it is at el. 13, would have some ground seepage - just how much and at what angle I can’t say as it is high clay content soil. Low risk especially with anchoring. I spoke to the installer and the owner and rather than have concerns about worst case conditions, I’ve suggested, and they agreed, that the LP tank be located somewhat clear of the flood zone elevation line. Last week I reviewed with the installer the code mandate that the generator be on a small concrete ( pre-cast) pedestal approx. 1.5 ft. above grade. It’s the generator that they are trying to hide from the Historic Committee view. Perhaps a few inkberry shrubs would be nice. The LP tank goes underground except for the cap so it doesn’t matter where except reasonably close to the generator. I will revise the plan. Not much of a change. Let me know if you would like more detail. The plan was for cons com review but we can add other items. Good Morning, Attached is a pdf of the Yarmouth / Mass DEP RDA application with a site plan addressing the work activity to install a standby generator and subsurface LP gas tank with associated pipe and conduit trenching. A cover letter is included also. Please contact me for questions or any additional information. Thank you, Bob Perry Cape Cod Engineering, Inc. 508-385-1445 2
