HomeMy WebLinkAbout24 River St Memo to Julie re proposed alterationsVozella, Beth From: Vozella, Beth Sent: Monday, March 02, 2015 3:28 PM To: Julie Mockabee (vanguard3l@verizon.net) Subject: FW: 24+24A river st Attachments: Riverl.JPG; River2 jpg; River3 jpg; River4 jpg; Rivers jpg; River6 jpg HI Julie- Konstantin Aleksandrov, contractor for 24 & 24A River Street, located in the Bass River/South Yarmouth Historic District, has proposed some renovations that require the YHC to determine whether or not these alterations are "substantial" in which case this would be referred to the Cape Cod Commission for their review and approval. Definition of "Substantial Alteration": An alteration that jeopardizes an historic structure's individual eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, or its status as a contributing structure in the National Register Historic District. Please see the email string below for details. I am certainly not an expert, but it appears that the work that is being proposed will only enhance the preservation of the home. It's up to you as to whether or not you would like me to schedule a formal site visit. My thought is that in this situation, it may be enough if each member takes a drive by at their convenience and then we can discuss at the March 12th meeting. I took a drive over at lunch today and took the attached pictures. Konstantin has made himself available for any questions and is on the agenda to attend the next YHC meeting which is scheduled for 3:00 on Thursday, March 12th. Please let me know your thoughts.
