Hello John -
Since this house is over 75 years old and is listed in a National Historic District, a request for a demolition permit
automatically triggers the Demolition Delay process. This will involve going through the Yarmouth Historic Commission
and if this home is deemed to be a "significant structure" there is a mandatory referral to the Cape Cod Commission
before approval is given to the building Commissioner to issue a permit.
Do you have a date in mind as to when you will be submitting an application for a demolition?
I am in the process of putting some material together for you that will explain the YHC process. I am tied up in meetings
the next couple of days, but will do my best to email it to you by the end of day on Wednesday, the 301x'.
In the meantime, I would suggest that you contact the Cape Cod Commission as to what their process is regarding a
demolition request for a home that is considered a "significant structure".
I'll be in touch soon,
-Beth

Beth,
As a follow up to our phone tag, perhaps via email we could at least coordinate a good time for a call — or office visit if
you prefer to review the requirements for a demolition of the existing structure at this residence.
