Here is the narrative for the project.
The main street facing story and a half was constructed in the 1700s. In the 1800s the Dining Room and sleeping loft
were added. In the 1900s a series of additions were constructed that eventually connected to the barn. This was typical
New England Architecture. The additions were poorly built and designed. The clients have made them work but would
now like to bring the house up to current standards and restore the old original street facing section and rebuild the
rest. The house does not have a basement and we are going to raise the house, pour a new foundation for the old
section and the proposed addition. We are rebuilding the old Dining Room Section to look like it does now with the
addition of a shed dormer on the North Side. Our design approach was to design the new addition to be functional as
well as thoughtfully designed. We respected the architecture here and used forms and materials that feel as if they
have always been there.

with the Historical Commission.
