Performed engineering misc. inspection. See attached. Exception:Banding missing in several locations at the exterior face; sheathing needs to be removed to fix in the 11 section. Some of the inside bands also missing. This inspector observed that some studs were screwed into the top track which they should not, as this is a deflection track. Studs at some of the curved walls need securing at the bottom on both sides; these areas appear in progress. Non-compliance conditions were brought to the attention of Jon Pope with PMA. See attached Non-Compliance Report. The work observed was, to the best of Roney's knowledge, in accordance with the approved plans, specifications and applicable standards of workmanship,except as noted. At the request of John Pope and in the presence of the town building official, subcontractor and GC representatives; this inspector destructively tested randomly selected through floor MEP penetrations per ASTM E 2174 guidelines. Penetrations were inspected on the 2nd level wing D. One penetration for each submitted assembly design was destructively inspected. For plumbing work , designs CAJ 1226 and 5091 were inspected with passing results. For mechanical work, designs CAJ 5343 and 5090 were destructively inspected with passing results. For electrical work, designs CAJ 3239 and CAJ 2647 were destructively tested with passing results. All tested locations were repaired on this same day. Over 2% of each type design installed to date were tested. Additional Notes: At the request of John Pope, In-wall and In-chaise 2nd level wing D floor penetrations were inspected for completion. Open penetrations were found and marked on the attached plan, which was provided to PMA. Except for 2-3 mechanical rooms, the D wing, per "G" project plans, has no fire-rated walls or floors. Work is ongoing and incomplete at the rated Mechanical rooms. Approved submittals may be needed for top of wall joint firestopping in this location.
