Greene, Director Date: March 7, 2022 Re: 33 Pleasant Street As you are aware, the Historical Commission approved the partial demolition and renovations at 33 Pleasant Street in 2019. The approval letter and associated elevation plans are attached. In Fall 2021, the Town was notified that the project was moving forward. Based on information submitted and attached here, the Town confirmed that the associated demolition was under the 25% Cape Cod Commission threshold. As the plans remained consistent with the 2019 plans, the contractor was given permission to proceed. The Owner and Builder will be in attendance at the Commission’s Thursday, March 10 meeting to discuss the project and to answer any questions that the Commission may have regarding this project. We have received some guidance from Sarah Korjeff at the Cape Cod Commission. I believe that the Owner/Builder have provided the information outlined in Ms. Korjeff’s email. Understanding that demolition had gone beyond that which was originally proposed, the Building Department stopped work at the site. Actual demolition calculations and some photos of the work are attached here as well as an explanation for the extent of demolition from the Owner and Builder. Please note that the original plans for the building have not changed and remain consistent with the Commission’s original 2019 approval. The Owner is preparing plans reflecting the actual work done that will meet the requirements of the Building Department.
