Instead of removing just the second floor of the middle section of the structure, the entire middle section of the structure was demolished. Based on this information, the Building Department stopped work at the site. Trevor Meyer, the builder, appeared before the Yarmouth Historical Commission on March 10, 2022 and presented plans to rebuild the middle section of the structure with the same character-defining elements that had been approved in the original plans, with reframing and a new foundation. The Commission noted that since the section has been demolished and the saltboard materials lost, all that can be done at this point is to have assurance from the builder that the exterior will look the same as the original plans, which has been obtained. Accordingly, the applicant can proceed with demolition. Please let me know if you have any questions.
