Hi Kelly,
What a cluster! Robin didn't even show up! He sent an email to my agent today saying he was at the meeting
last night and asked for a continuance because he had not heard from the seller, who has called and called and
receives a voice mail saying that the answering machine does not work! And, I just saw the recording and Robin
was not there!
Anyway, the water is being retested today. My proposal is that if there is no bacteria and low nitrates (but high
salinity), would it not make sense to not wreak havoc on a fragile ecosystem with digging a new well anywhere
on the property, and permit a filtration system for the existing well to make the water potable? This would then
open a pathway for an IA system install.
As far as the septic, Ellis Brothers says the system installed is a 3 bedroom, not a 2 bedroom. They dug it up to
pump it and inspect it and said it was, in fact a three bedroom system (to go with the three bedrooms in the
house). So much doesn't make sense.
Hopefully, we will have a new engineer working on this who can present at the next meeting.
Would you be able to send me the site plan Robin presented?
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura
The Commission can only review and vote on what is before them. The application would have to be modified to reflect
any changes. I suggest these issues be resolved with the property owner and a revised application be submitted for
review.

Hi Kelly,
I spoke to the well company slated to do the work yesterday, Desmond Drilling. They told me that the
results of the water test were likely related to user error (contaminated hose, lab contamination) based
on the very low reading of bacteria (2). The nitrates were very low as well. They have been trying to
impart to Mr. Peterson that the water should be tested again and that very likely, it will pass and no new
well will be required. Robin has been discouraging this, for some reason. Jeez, I wish I'd known this
earlier!!
With this new information, might the Conservation Commission be able to look at Robin's septic design as
potentially viable contingent upon further water testing? If by the next meeting, the results show that the
water does not have bacteria, the nitrates are low and all the other water "boxes" check out, maybe the
existing septic design presented by Robin might be approved?

Do you think I should come to the hearing tonight to impart this?
Thank you, Kelly, for humoring me...
Laura
