Can I ask what the actual violation and I am responding to is? Is there any detail behind it? Also, how can I go about filing a formal complaint? On your form it states that the finished side of the fence must face out from the fenced in area. Our neighbor's fence at i 1 Doves Wing Rd in South Yarnouth is facing the wrong way. I would like to submit this to the committee to have action taken. Thank you for your help. As you can see from the guidance on fences, only wooden fences are acceptable; chicken wire, chain link, vinyl, etc. are not allowed in the historic district. The Certificate of Appropriateness, supporting documentation, and the fee can be submitted, and you will be added to the hearing agenda for the OKH Committee. Pictures of where your fence is located, the type of materials, a picture of the type of fencing to be used, a plot plan or other drawing of where the fence will be located, etc. is helpful so the Committee can see your exact plans and make a decision based on all pertinent information. Reference is made to Sections 6 & 8 of the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Act as established by Chapter 470 of the Acts of 1973, as amended and as published in the OLD KING'S HIGHWAY REGIONAL HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION BULLETIN. This Act requires that all exterior changes and/or additions to settings and structures be reviewed and approved by the local Old King's Highway Committee prior to work being started. It has been brought to the attention of the Yarmouth Old King's Highway Committee that a fence has been installed on your property without the prior approval of the Yarmouth Old King's Highway Committee.
