Exterior items:
11. At the time of observation, PMA’s testing agency (Fenagh) was on site performing air and water tests for selected windows in Area D. (for more information on testing see attached RJK field report). See photos on page 4
12. AVB membrane installation by Beacon is almost complete at Area B and is just getting started in Area A (at south façade of music wing).
13. At the time of observation, the panel cladding contractor (Lymo) was installing ACM at the north façade of Area D as well as GFRC panels at the central courtyard between D and C; ACM panel installation is in progress at the D wing stairs; GFRC is partially complete at the North façade of D ( NW section). (see photos on pages 3 and 4)
REPORT BY: ABH Page 2 of 4
14. Lymo has placed wall ties for girts at the south upper façade of the gym, with wet set screws; at the time of observation they were in the process of installing mineral wool between the girts (see photo in RJK report). 15. Lambrian is installing curtain wall IGUs at the south and east elevations of Area B (see photo on page 4); they are also preparing to install the CW for the main entrances (Area B). 16. Brick progress: two Lighthouse crews are installing brick at the north facade of Area B and another crew is installing the PCC base and the grout fill on the south side of the gym, preparing for the brick masons to move
there next week (see photo in RJK report). 17. Site work: Marguerite is forming up the curb for the concrete tension ring at the upper synthetic turf athletic field. DISCREPANCIES, SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS New items 5171. PCC base alignment with window jamb. Taller PCC base at gym NE corner (to left of sill) is slightly too wide;
PE discussed with CB/Lighthouse. Lighthouse to address. (see photo on page 3). Prior items 5122. Furring in corridor on west side of CMU fire wall. (from 05 12 site report). PE discussed with CB/Colony, and called attention to the details in Bulletin 35 (issued on 5-10), i.e. 5/A517 and 10/A515. The issue is to allow movement at seismic joint. Still open
5051. (from 05 05 site report) Roof drains over unconditioned space. Two of the roof drains for the main canopy are above unconditioned space (i.e. south of the perimeter wall at level 1). PE and CB discussed how to address this. If possible PE would like to avoid putting an access panel in the exterior soffit in front of the main entrance. Still open. 4281. (from 04 28 site report) Guards at east stairs level 2. In two cases the guards on level 2 are going to be in conflict with the tile; PE + CB to have it addressed by cleanly torching off the last module of the guard (will be
< 4” from finished wall return) Update: United has addressed this at C east level 2; will be kept open 4282. (from 04 28 site report) CMU wall Seismic clips at Custodial Work Area. CB questioned the size of the steel lintel supporting the block above the “EXT 12” overhead door; GAC directed CB to have United install structural seismic clips all along CMU walls at perimeter-- per the standard detail on S-7.00. (this issue is also addressed in RFI #357). As indicated in photo in 5-12 site report, the seismic clips have been installed at this time: ITEM TO BE CLOSED.
4211. (from 04 21 site report) Facia plate at auditorium. Steel fascia at the balcony was installed ½” too low. Still open: team to look at Schluter strip options. 4212. (from 04 21 site report) Steel protrusion at auditorium. Still open. 4141. (from 04 14 site report) Poorly plumbed column at A.17/V. to be furred out with 7/8” furring channels. Still open. 4142. (from 04 14 site report) Accent paint at classroom walls. (soffit issue still open)
31002. (from 03 10 site report) Exposed HSS support brackets in gym. still open. 11301. (From 01-13 site report): Guard rail welds at D & C stairs - United still needs to grind welds for the guards at academic stairs (see photo). Update: PE reviewed this item with United and CB emphasized schedule issue-still open. Attachments:

RJK discussed the issues with PE, CB, and Beacon on site.
Work Observed
• Air and Vapor Barrier (AVB) Installation
• Window Installation
• Roofing Installation
• Window Testing as Performed by Fenagh Engineering & Testing LLC.
Observations
• On Part A, west, south and east elevations rising walls, Grid Lines A1 - B13, K-W, GCP Perm-A-
Barrier Aluminum AVB was installed by Beacon prior to RJK observations. Primer/adhesive was
applied to the DensGlass Sheathing. The membrane was installed in a water shedding fashion, with a
minimum 2 inch side lap and 10 inch lap around outside corners, as required. (Figure 1)
• On Part A, west and south elevations, Grid Lines V-W, window rough openings were detailed into the
AVB prior to RJK observations. A strip of AVB was installed extending past the jamb and onto the
exterior sheathing. The horizontal field sheets were run into the jambs in water shedding fashion. The
head strip had not yet been installed. (Figure 2)
• On Part B, south and east elevations, Grid Lines A17 - B33, insulated glazing units (IGU) were installed
in the Kawneer 1600IR curtain wall systems, utilizing temporary pressure bars. (Figure 3)
• On Part B, south elevation, Grid Lines A17 - B21, ELBEX HS-222 Silicone Transition Sheet was
installed at curtain wall frames, lapping into the glazing pocket and onto the vertical AVB membrane, in

water shedding fashion between strips at the head, jambs, and sill. Dow Sil 795 Sealant was applied to
the edges of the membrane at the wall and glazing pocket. (Figure 4)
• On Part B, east elevation rising walls, Grid Lines B25 - B33, Hohmann & Bernard Thermal 2-Seal Wing
Nut Anchors are installed through 6-inch John Mansville MinWool-1200. (Figure 5)
• On Part B, south elevation base detail, Grid Lines A17-A30, solid grout fill was installed between
precast concrete bases and extruded polystyrene insulation. (Figure 6)
• On Part B, south elevation base detail, Grid Lines A17 - B33, metal through-wall flashing is installed
over the precast concrete base, fastened utilizing termination bar and screws at 16 inches on-center.
(Figure 7)
• On Part B, south elevation rising walls, Grid Lines B25 - B33, Knight MFI ThermaBracket S-Series
wall ties were installed, fastened utilizing screws, and wet set in GCP Perm-A-Barrier S100 Sealant.
(Figure 8)
• On Part D, north elevation rising wall, Grid Lines D6 - D21, LYMO 2000 ACM panels were installed,
fastened utilizing panel clips to horizontal GreenGirt. (Figure 9)
Window Testing
• On the Part D, north elevation, Grid Lines D3, G1A and G2A windows, testing was conducted by FET
to check for air and water leakage. The water penetration resistance testing was performed in
accordance with ASTM E 1105: “Test Method for Field Determination of Water Penetrations of
Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Walls, By Uniform or Cyclical Static Air
Pressure Difference”. Each window was first tested for air leakage and then water leakage. A total of
four tests were conducted on two window units. Air testing was conducted at 3 psf and water testing
was conducted at 6 psf. Both window units pass air and water testing. (Figures 10 - 14)
