In just a few individual cases, other materials have been approved (e.g., a metal pool fence well back on a secluded lot where the fence could not be seen from a public way or by neighbors). If proposing a material other than wood, please be prepared to explain why the alternative is necessary. ALL new or altered fences require OKH approval regardless of height or material.
