This looks like one of the "violations" that we touched on at last meeting.
It appears to be done. It also appears to be quite close to the road. The height, material, etc look like
they would meet requirement of an exemption. Lets discuss tonight.

OLD KING'S HIGHWAY HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMITTEE
WAIVER OF 45 -DAY DETERMINATION
The applicant/applicant's agent understands and agrees that doe to the current declared National
and State public health emergencies the determination of our Application for a Certificate of
Appropriateness/Demolition/Exemption may not be made within 45 days of the filing of such
application.
The applicant agrees to extend the time frame within which a determination is to be made as
required by the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Act.
SECTION 9 -Meetings, Hearings, Tinrefor Making Determinations
"As soon as convenient after such public hearing; but in any event within forty-five (45) days
after the filing of application, or within such further time as the applicant shall allow in writing,
the Committee shall make a determination on the application. "

OLD KING'S HIGHWAY HISTORIC DISTRICT
FENCES
The Old King's Highway Committee prefers wooden fences over other materials. In just a few individual
cases, other materials have been approved (e.g., a metal pool fence well back on a secluded lot where
the fence could not be seen from a public way or by neighbors). If proposing a material other than
wood, please be prepared to explain why the alternative is necessary.
ALL new or altered fences require OKH approval regardless of height or material. Vinyl fences,
regardless of height, are NOT allowed in the OKH District.

1. Application for a Certificate of Exemptioh (to be reviewed by OKH Chairman):
For wooden fences 4 feet or less in height, if appropriate for the site & the associated structure(s)
and if constructed in the following styles:
• Split, half -round, or round post and rail in natural (unpainted) finish
Square rail in white or natural (unpainted, finish
• Vertical picket in white finish or natural (unpainted) finish
• Vertical fiat board with cap rail 4-6 inches wide in white or natural (unpaintfhtai�
Finished side of fence must face out from fenced in area.

For wooden fences over 4 feet and up to 6 feet tall OR for fences made of any materia o�(a"WAY
wood. Must be appropriate for the site and associated structure(s).
• Height limit for fences is 6 feet. Taller fences will be considered in special instances where
the topography of the lot makes them necessary.
• Location of fencing over 4 feet high is not approved forward of front fascia of building.
• Finished side of fence must face out from fenced in area.
• Chain link fences are not usually considered appropriate.

4 copies: General specification sheet (listing the fence type, height and materials)
1 Abutters list (Map and Lot numbers of direct and across the street abutting parcels)

— 4 copies: Color Photos (Front of house & location of proposed work)
