Project: Dennis Yarmouth Middle School Report Number:
Project Address: 296 Station Ave South Yarmouth 02664
Client: PMA Consultants
Date of Site Visit: 06-21-2022
Report Date: 06-21-2022
Purpose of Visit: Fenestration Field Air Leakage Resistance and Water Penetration Resistance
Testing
On-Site During Visit: Roney Nakhoul, Kyle Godek
Report By: Roney Nakhoul
Introduction:
Fenestration water penetration resistance testing was performed as requested by
the client. Windows were selected at random by client. Testing was performed using an internal test chamber on a pass / fail basis. See procedure for more details.
Procedure:
Air Leakage Resistance
Air Leakage resistance testing was performed in accordance with ASTM E783-02: “Standard Test Method for Field
Measurement of Air Leakage Through Installed Exterior Windows and Doors”, with respect to AAMA 502-12:
“Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products”.
Water Penetration Resistance
Water penetration resistance testing was performed in accordance with ASTME 1105-00: “Test Method
for Field Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and
Curtain Walls, by Uniform or Cyclic Static Air Pressure Difference”, with respect to AAMA 502-12:
“Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products”, Procedure A and B.
Procedure A (ASTM E 1105-00, Section 12.1) - A uniform static differential pressure is applied across the
fenestration within 15 seconds and maintain this pressure, along with the specified rate of water spray for 15
minutes.
Procedure B (ASTM E 1105-00, Section 12.2.2, 3 &4) - "Apply the specified static air pressure difference
across the test specimen promptly and maintain this pressure, along with the specified rate of water spray, for
the period of time stipulated by the specification or the specifier. Unless otherwise specified, the duration of
the pressure cycle shall be 5 minutes." Per Section12.2.3, "While maintaining the water spray, reduce the air
pressure difference to zero for a period of not less than 1 minute." Per Section 12.2.4, "Repeat the preceding
two steps for the specified number of cycles. In no case, however, shall the total time of pressure application be
less than 15 minutes.

WINDOW TESTING REPORT
Conformance Criteria:
Air leakage resistance tests shall be conducted at a uniform cyclic test pressure of 1.57 psf. The maximum
allowable rate of air leakage shall not exceed 0.09 cfm/ft2
Water penetration resistance tests shall be conducted at a static test pressure of 6.24 PSF. No water penetration shall
occur as defined in ASTM E1105-00, Section 3.2.3. (Per project specification 08 4113 3.5 as provided by PMA)
ASTM E 1105-00, Section3.2.3, defines water penetration as “penetration of water beyond a plane parallel to the glazing
(the vertical plane) intersecting the innermost projection of the test specimen, not including interior trim and hardware,
under the specified conditions of air pressure difference across the specimen”. Any such water penetration shall constitute
failure of the water penetration resistance test. Water penetrating through the perimeter frame of the specimen shall also
constitute failure. Water contained within drained flashing, gutters, and sills shall not constitute failure

WINDOW TESTING REPORT
Results Summary:
Air leakage testing per ASTM E783-02 met the parameters set out in the project specifications and AAMA 502 for this
fenestration type.
Water leakage was tested per ASTM E1105. Differential air pressure was maintained within the capsule at 6.24 PSF and
water spray delivery at 5.0 U.S. gal/ft^2/hour for the duration of the test period. The capsule was sealed to the window
rough opening interior framing all around.
No Water leakage was observed during the 15 minute test period. This window has passed ASTM E1105 testing,
procedure A, following AAMA 502-12 standards.
Work observed was, to the best of my knowledge, in conformance with:
• Attached test parameters
• ASTM E1105, E331, & E547
• AAMA 502, ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97
