Margot and I request that the Board of Appeals do not grant the requested
variance of the frontage set back that is required by the South Yarmouth By-Laws.
1. In general, we believe that this set back is the best interest of the town and
should not be varied except for emergency measures.
2. We are concerned that this variance would be used as precedent for future
variances.
3. Pleasant Street is heavily used by walkers, bikers, and cars. Granting this
type of variance will be detrimental and dangerous to the neighborhood.
4. The above is even more true of Aunt Jane's Road. It is a very small dead end
residential road. Removing about 10 feet of set back and over 500 sq feet
of space along this road will not only damage the feeling of the
neighborhood but will be dangerous for the people using the road.
