ARCHITECT’S SITE OBSERVATION REPORT

The purpose of the Site Observation Report is to record general observations of the work in progress at the time of the Architect’s visit.
WORK IN PROGRESS:
1) Drywall taping and painting
2) Classroom casework installation
3) Classroom Linoleum flooring installation
4) Tack board and marker board installation
5) Smart screen bracket installation
6) Millwork installation
7) Ceiling framing; ceiling installation
8) MEP/FP finish work—light fixtures etc.
9) Interior painting
10) Curtain wall silicone sealing
11) GFRC panel installation
12) ACM panel installation and prep
13) Site work
FIELD OBSERVATIONS:
PE visited the site on Thursday 09-08, to review ongoing progress.
Interior Items
1. The installation of finishes at Area D is ongoing, including linoleum flooring installation and marker board
installation (see photo on page 4).
2. At the time of observation, H. Carr was installing the finished wood slat ceilings at the Area D collaboration
spaces on level 2 (see photo on page 3).
3. On the same floor Wright was installing the radiused wood portals at the cross-corridor terminations (see photo on
page 5).
4. At the time of observation, wood doors were being delivered to the 2nd floor of Area D.
5. At Area C, Millwork and casework installation are both ongoing; Casework for level C1 will be here next week
according to Commodore.
6. At Area C, above-ceiling MEP is substantially complete.
7. At Area C, the installation of ceiling grids, finished ceilings and MEP fixtures are all still ongoing.
8. At Area B, O’Byrne is finishing up painting the locker room area ceilings.
9. H. Carr is finishing the ceiling grid installation in the admin area, as well as at the two art rooms.
10. O’Byrne has finished painting the gymnasium steel / MEP and at the time of observation the gymnasium
accessories (e.g. basketball hoops etc.) were going in (see photo on page 5).
11. At Area A, The epoxy flooring in the kitchen area has commenced, and at the time of observation the main floor
was prepped and most of the cove base had been installed.
12. At area A, Above-ceiling MEP work is complete at the music wing; drywall for the main auditorium walls is still
being installed.

Exterior items:
1. Envelope cladding is nearing completion. The metal panel installation is substantially complete at Area A.
2. At the time of observation Lymo was installing the angled ACM panels at the south façade of Area B (media
center); the angled stud framing is in place (see photo on page 4);
3. Oko skin “formpart” outside corner are mostly installed; at the time of observation Lymo was installing the panels
at the NW corner of Area D (see photo on page 3).
4. Beacon is continuing to seal the penetrations etc.
5. Commodore is preparing to install the window and close off the opening that has been used for loading materials
into D level 2.
Site work:
1. The grading at Fields A and B appears substantially complete.
2. RBO is continuing to spread loam and prepare for walkway pours in the areas immediately adjacent to the
academic wings.
3. At the time of observation RBO’s subcontractor was putting in the footings for the playground equipment (see
photo on page 4.)
DISCREPANCIES, SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
New items
9081. Ceiling-height conflict at D135. At corridor D135 (west cross-corridor at level 1) H. Carr identified a conflict
between the design ceiling height and a drain pipe that protrudes from the soffit above the hold-open door.
PE asked Carr’s foreman to lower the ceiling by six inches.
9082. Gap at the west elevation. The ACM-to-brick transition at the west elevation has some excessive gaps that
need to be addressed. CB said that Lymo is re-making ACM so that it is not as far recessed as it is now.
(see photo on page 3).
9083. Grading at PCC base. In certain places, for instance at the very NW corner of D, the top of the loam as
currently installed is too close to the bottom of the base (see photo on page 5). It should be min 2-3 inches
up on the PCC base so that it does not wash out exposing the bottom of the PCC.
