Petition 34979
Question: should Shore Side Properties be granted a permit for 100 per percent seasonal employee housing?Answer:
NO!
During the summer of 2022 Shore Side let the former Village Green Motel deteriorate even further. Small attempts of
improvement were made. None completed. A company the size of and with the resources of SSP should have made a
much greater attempt to impress the surrounding area that they were competent and ready to work with the
neighborhood.They did NOT!
Parkwood Rd. has families that have enjoyed the happiness of the Cape since the 1930's.We deserve better. We are an
established close knit neighborhood. We look out for each other. This past summer 2022 the employees housed at 33-37
Sea Side Village Rd. showed no respect for families that have lived here for generations. Speeding on an one lane road.
People walking and children playing were in constant danger. A female resident was walking from a friends to her own
home and was very intimidated by men sitting by the road in an wooded area drinking and smoking cannabis. This not
right! We deserve better! The condition of the building, the lack of common respect for others, the loud music, verbal
disturbances an multiple police calls proves that SSP does not belong in an area for happy families. So NO! Do not grant
permit. There are many derelict motels on Rt. 28 in West and South Yarmouth that would be much more suitable for this
type of use. And a great way to revitalize under used properties.
