Request for modification of decision #3555
Please consider the following comments regarding the expansion of rounds and public play
at Kings Way Golf Course, Yarmouth Port.
Since the change in course layout we are now located along the 9th hole. Prior to that period
( when it was the 18th hole ) we only occasionally received an errant ball on our property.
The fairway has been widened and the vegetation barrier between the course and private
property line left thinner. As a result golf balls now frequently land in the yard, driveway, and•
even over the house on the lawn in the front of our home. This spring a golf ball narrowly
missed Jean's head as she gardened. We have essentially lost the use of our driveway for
parking and must always garage our vehicles to prevent damage from golf balls. Stray shots
have occurred even though club membership has decreased. We are now concerned that
increased play will mean more out of control golf balls and a greater public safety hazard.
