1. Mackenzie Meschwitz arrived on site at 0700 hours.
Left site at 1500 hours.
2. Earthwork equipment:
A) One Caterpillar PC 360 LCi Excavator B) One Bomag 50/55D Reversible Vibratory Plate Compactor
C) One Volvo L120H Loader
3. Earthwork observed:
A) Drainage utility installation and backfilling operations took place today within the proposed
pavement area located within the westerly portion of the site (see attached Site Sketch, Figure No. 1
and Photo Log). C.C. Construction excavated one pit, approximately 10± feet deep, extending from about Elevations 38± to 28± feet for the installation of one proposed water quality unit. The
excavation was advanced into apparent natural sand generally consisting of light tan, fine to
medium SAND, trace Silt, trace Roots, and trace fine Gravel. C.C. Construction placed an approximately 6± inch thick layer of ¾-inch crushed stone at the bottom of the pit prior to installing
the water quality unit. C.C. Construction also excavated an approximately 4± ft wide, 3± ft deep trench for the installation of HDPE drainage pipe connecting to the water quality unit and extending
past the northern side of the westerly pavement area and through the landscaped area.
C.C. Construction placed the previously excavated sand as backfill in approximately 12± inch thick
lifts around the drainage structure up to the approximate Elevation of 33± feet. Each lift was
compacted with about 6± passes of the reversible vibratory plate compactor. Each lift of backfill
appeared firm and stable under the vibratory action of the plate compactor. Backfilling around the
HDPE drainage pipe connected to the water quality unit as well as the rest of the backfilling around the water quality unit is scheduled to take place later in the week.
The undersigned performed field density test nos. 58 through 63 on the compacted lifts of backfill
(see attached Figure No. 1 for the approximate test locations). The test results indicated that a
satisfactory compaction percentage was achieved at each test location. Refer to the Summary of
Field Density Tests sheet (page 3 of this report) for additional information.

B) Excavation within the proposed southerly concrete ramp area along the westerly side of the
building took place today (see attached Site Sketch, Figure No. 1 and Photo Log). C.C.
Construction excavated two 8± feet wide, 3± to 5± feet deep trenches for the proposed ramp wall footings from approximately Elevations 38± to 33± feet. C.C. Construction removed up to 2±
inches of existing bituminous pavement from the area. The excavations were then advanced
through existing fill down to apparent natural sand. The existing fill appeared to generally consist
of grayish tan, fine to medium SAND, some fine to coarse Gravel, trace Silt with asphalt and
concrete debris. The apparent natural sand appeared to generally consist of light tan, fine to
medium SAND, trace fine Gravel, and trace Silt. No debris or organic matter was observed along the exposed sand subgrades.
The sand subgrades along the footing trenches for the northerly and southerly ramps were then
proof compacted with 6± passes of the reversible vibratory plate compactor. The sand subgrades
appeared firm and stable under the vibratory action of the plate compactor.
The undersigned performed field density test nos. 64 through 71 on the sand subgrades (see
attached Figure No. 1 for the approximate test locations). The test results indicated that a satisfactory compaction percentage was achieved at each test location. Refer to the Summary of
Field Density Tests sheet (page 3 of this report) for additional information.
