DAILY FIELD REPORT PROJECT: Proposed FedEx Distribution Facility FIELD REPORT NO: 31 PAGE 1 OF 2 PROJECT NO: Z486.01 DATE: 1/11/23 LOCATION: 225 White’s Path, South Yarmouth, MA CLIENT: 225 White’s Path Units 2 and 3, LLC WEATHER: Cloudy, 35-38°F CONTRACTOR(S): DellbrookǀJKS; Future Fence Company 1. Henry Tinoco arrived on site at 0730 hours. Left site at 1330 hours. 2. Earthwork equipment: A) One E88 Bobcat Tracked Excavator with Auger Attachment B) One T66 Bobcat Tracked Loader C) One JCB 507-42 Telehandler 3. Earthwork observed: A) Drilling of the shaft foundations for the proposed sound wall within the southwesterly portion of the site along the side of the parking lot took place today (see attached Annotated Site Plan, Figure No. 1). The ground surface along the proposed wall alignment in the noted area generally consisted of loam fill at about Elevation 40± feet. Future Fence Company (FFC) used an E88 Bobcat tracked excavator equipped with a 2.5± foot diameter auger to drill eight proposed shafts which we reference as nos. DS2, DS12 and DS29 through DS34 on the attached Figure No. 1 and drilled shaft log. FFC augured down to a depth of about 8.5± feet for drilled shaft no. DS2, and about 9.5± feet for drilled shaft nos. DS12 and DS29 through DS34. These drilled shaft excavations appeared to extend through about 4± to 6± inches of surficial loam fill and into sand appearing to generally consist of tan to reddish brown, fine to medium sand, trace silt. These drilled excavations appeared to terminate in similar natural sand. Groundwater was not observed in these drilled excavations. Two, 2.5 foot diameter sonotubes were installed in the drilled excavation for shaft no. DS2 due to unstable excavation sidewall conditions. The annular space around the sonotubes was backfilled with on-site sand appearing to generally consist of tan, fine to medium sand, trace silt. The backfill was tamped to an apparent firm and stable condition during placement with a 5 inch x 5 inch plate attached to rebar (hand tamper). DAILY FIELD REPORT PROJECT: Proposed FedEx Distribution Facility FIELD REPORT NO: 31 PAGE 2 OF 2 PROJECT NO: Z486.01 DATE: 1/11/23 During drilling of shaft no. DS31, the auger shifted out of alignment between the depths of about 2± to 4± feet due to roots resulting in a wider excavation. FFC installed two, 2.5± foot diameter sonotubes in the drilled excavation. The annular space around the sonotubes was backfilled with on-site sand appearing to generally consist of tan, fine to medium sand, trace silt. The backfill was tamped to an apparent firm and stable condition during placement with the hand tamper. FFC tamped loosened soil along the bottom of the drilled excavations with the auger and the hand tamper. The exposed sand along the bottom of the drilled excavations appeared firm and stable. 4.
