On 2/23/23 we received an email with the permit applications to remove the tanks from... Heather M. Atwood SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING GLOBAL REMEDIATION SERVICES Monday 2/27/23 they are scheduled to remove the 2 tanks from the property, with the Fire department present. I have also requested an L.S.P. to be on site as well. I visited the property today 2/23/23 and took pictures of the site, a strong odor of fuel oil was noticed immediately as I arrived, as well as a oil sheen on the puddles of water due to recent rainfall. I will follow up with additional photos and Narrative after Mondays removal of the tanks. I notified the Health Department, Haz mat inspector Carl Lawson. Further notifications may be needed after Mondays removal. Lt. Matt Bearse Additional Narratives Additional Narratives Authored By Authored Date cad ; 2023/02/23 13:53:55 - 59_FPO AT EVENT MANNING IS 1 cad ; 2023/02/23 13:53:15 2 UNDERGROUND OIL TANKS FOUND BY CONTRACTOR/ ODOR OF FUEL ON PROPERTY Myself and acting Deputy Huck went to the scene on 2/27/23 and met the remediation company and LSP onsite. They had pulled permits to remove the 2 tanks, one 1000 gallon tank had been removed prior to 2/23/23. We witnessed the removal of the second 500 gallon tank still in the ground. attached photos. The LSP reported field tests did show fuel oil in the ground soil. 85 PPM with additional testing being done. I determined with a positive spill, that i had to assume the potential for over 10 gallons of fuel oil leaked into the ground, I asked dispatch to make the proper notifications. I personally emailed the Health Dept. with photos The one 500 gallon tank that was pulled today, had obvious damage, property owner on site reported to me that the excavator had struck the tank with the tooth of the bucket. That's how they discovered the tank on 2/23/23. We left the scene in the care of the LSP and remediation company.
