Hello,
Attached are original plans approved and 1st change approved by Old Kings Highway,
Hopefully this explains the newest and final change. It actually is a compromise to both sets.
Thank you again for all you do,
Donna Lowney

plans have the garage addition on the same plain and all I want to change
from my approved permit is to move the addition back 2 feet.
At our Old Kings Highway Meeting, the board stated that they would prefer
it moved back but I didn't have the room and it would block the sun in the
back room using original plans. My new approved plan omitted the small
addition to house shortening the length allowing me to do so and and the
blocked windows is no longer an issue.
The minor change I am asking for is to move the garage addition back 2
feet breaking up the long ugly roofline. Hope this makes sense now.
I think the board would be happy with this change as they recommended it
in the first place.
Sincerely,
Donna Lowney

Donna,
My apologies for not ringing you back,
but I simply didn't have time this
weekend. We are also involved in
renovating our kitchen, which
consumes time away from work, and
my 95 year old uncle in RI has had
health issues that have taken a great
deal of time the past few weeks. I am
his health care proxy and I've been
trying to coordinate an ongoing issue
with several physicians.

Lisa,
It seems Richard Gegenwarth already approved the change to the grange configuration to being underground.
approve moving it back two feet, as requested. Thank you.

Good Morning,
Excuse my wordy email trying to explain my situation. I was not being argumentative or
disrespectful by bolding my words, which apparently it could be considered. I was trying
to emphasize the area of which there is confusion. After all that, I never stated who
approved the change. Richard Genewarth approved the underground garage on
9/21/2022. After rereading the email, that wasn't clear despite my bolding, who
approved the change, lol. Welcome to OKH....
Now that that is cleared up, is it possible to get the approval to move the garage back 2
feet breaking up that long roofline?
Thank you,
Donna Lowney

If I am correct from our conversation,
the drawings you have submitted do
not show anything that you are now
proposing: removing the addition to the
house and the full excavation of the
proposed new garage to allow for
parking for two cars under the
structure, which would allow the first
floor to be living space. The site work
involved in this would be extensive,
particularly given the relatively flat site
on which the structure sits.
You told me that you do not have a
basement. This means that you would
have to underpin the existing house
foundation in addition to constructing
significant retaining walls to allow
driving access to the basement garage.
That is if it is even possible to do so,
depending on the water table height
and soil conditions. You would certainly
need a structural engineer to plan this
work and provide the proper details.
In any event, this unfortunately cannot
be viewed as an amendment to the
application. It is, effectively, a
completely different project from that
which was approved and I cannot
approve it without bringing it before
the committee. It will certainly require
nearly completely revised drawings.
I am very sorry that I have to reject the
amendment as I would genuinely like to
help you with what has already been a
long process for you.
Please feel free to ring me if you would
like
