Neitz RECEIVED LFEB 2 8 2023 YARMUI;TH BOARD OF APPEALS Tue, Dec 14, 2021, 4:11 PM Only the arrival today of an out-of-state family member could prevent me from attending today's hearing on the monstrous cell tower proposed on the church property known as Our Lady of the Highway at the corner of Route 28 and Forest Road in South Yarmouth. 1 have read much of the petitioners' proposal as well as some of the opposition from town officials, and the Planning Board. I've also heard comments from many other citizens regarding the inappropriateness of the proposed structure. I was particularly offended by the audacity of CCC staff report in which the "staff suggests the visual impact from this monopole may not be significantly greater than that of the existing concealed antenna across Route 28 from this site. " Who are they kidding? Are they blind? The antenna pole behind the Post Office is a white tubular structure that looks much like a flag pole (with a gold ball on its top) that is nearly HALF the size of the proposed structure and WITHOUT any junky looking antennas hanging off the proposed 110 foot tower that I believe would be a tremendous EYESORE for our community. As a resident of Yarmouth for nearly 60 years, past Chairman of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the Yarmouth Historical Commission, the Cape Cod Economic Development Council, the Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors and many other non -profits and state & local governmental boards, I STRONGLY OPPOSE permitting for the construction of this ugly, oversized structure in the heart of our community. We are desperately trying to improve the area's appearance and attractiveness for our residents and visitors that are so vital to our economy. I am certain that there are better locations on existing poles, towers or buildings or in more industrial -type zones using far better technology than that which is proposed. I know for a fact that originally, this antenna was proposed and approved to be INSIDE the steeple of the existing church on the site. The Board of Appeals recognized the need for better cell service, but NEVER imagined the monstrosity being now proposed. Please record this resident as offended by and STRONGLY OPPOSED to this proposal. Richard W. Neitz 11 General Holway Road South Yarmouth, Massachusetts 02664
