This email is to offer my opinion concerning the petition of Colbea Enterprises, LLC for multiple variances at the hearing
on April 13, 2023.
As I have stated to the Board in the past, this project has the potential to damage the public water supply in the Town of
Yarmouth. As we all are aware, our drinking water is from the sole source aquifer beneath Cape Cod. It has been
polluted in Sandwich by fuel leaking from a fuel line near Route 130 that has taken decades to mitigate. Gas station
underground tank leaks have caused pollution of the water supplies in multiple towns in Massachusetts in the past.
The town bylaws of Yarmouth specifically prohibit not only gas stations in the proposed location but also seek to
preserve the esthetics of the town by limiting the signage, lighting and commercial look of new retail structures. The
proposed signage and lighting of the Seasons Corner Market is another example of this company ignoring the bylaws of
the Town of Yarmouth to do whatever they desire to advance their business objectives.
For the above reasons, please deny the applicant's petition for additional variances.
