A. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY "DIG -SAFE" AS REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY
EXCAVATION WORK. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING UTILITIES WITHIN THE
WORK AREA DURING CONSTRUCTION.

SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM NOTES:
1. H-20 RATED COMPONENTS SHALL BE REQUIRED IN ANY AREAS SUBJECT TO VEHICULAR
LOADING AND AS REQUIRED ON THE PLAN.
2. THE DESIGNER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SYSTEM AS DESIGNED UNLESS
CONSTRUCTED AS SHOWN. ANY CHANGES OR DEVIATIONS FROM THIS PLAN MUST BE
APPROVED IN WRITING.
3. ALL GRAVITY SEWER PIPE SHALL BE 4" DIA. SCH 40 PVC UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THE
MINIMUM SLOPE OF 4" DIA, SCH 40 PVC SHALL BE 0.01 FT/FT.
4. SOIL ABSORPTION SYSTEMS MUST BE VENTED WHEN DISTRIBUTION LINES EXCEED 50 FEET IN

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING SEPTIC COMPONENTS FOR UNIT #1. CONTRACTOR
SHALL EXPOSE THE EXISTING LINE FROM THE SEPTIC TANK TO LEACH PIT, PRIOR TO THE
INSTALLATION OF ANY NEW SEPTIC COMPONENTS, TO CONFIRM THERE ARE NO CONFLICTS WITH
THE NEWLY PROPOSED SEPTIC INSTALLATION. IF THE EXISTING LINE IS IN CONFLICT WITH THE
PROPOSED SEPTIC DESIGN THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AND LINE WILL BE
RELOCATED AS NEEDED. EXISTING HEDGE AND TREE
8. COMPONENTS TO BE PROVIDE WITH WATERTIGHT ACCESS COVERS RAISED TO WITHIN 6" OF TO BE REMOVED
GRADE WHERE REQUIRED.
9. PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION BY THE ENGINEER AND THE BOARD OF HEALTH ALL SYSTEM
COMPONENTS MUST BE INSTALLED INCLUDING ALL ACCESS COVERS WITH RISERS.
10. SOIL REMOVAL: ALL FILL AND SUBSOIL (B LAYER) SHALL BE REMOVED FOR A DISTANCE OF 5' WORK AREA PLAN
FROM THE SOIL ABSORPTION SYSTEM DOWN TO THE CLEAN SAND LAYER, LAYER C1, APPROX. SCALE: 1" = 10'
33" BELOW GRADE. AREA TO BE BACKFILLED WITH CLEAN "TITLE 5" SAND AND COMPACTED
TO MINIMIZE SETTLING. CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY TOWN AND/OR ENGINEER TO VERIFY SOIL

PUMP NOTES & REQUIREMENTS:
1.) ALARM SHALL BE A RED WARNING LIGHT WITH AUDIBLE ALARM LOCATED WITHIN THE
BUILDING AS SHOWN ON THE PLAN.
2.) THE CORDS FOR THE FLOATS SHALL BE ONE CONTINUOUS PIECE FROM THE PUMP CHAMBER
TO THE DISCONNECT PULL BOX. THE CORDS SHALL BE ENCASED IN 3" ELECTRICAL CONDUIT.
3.) ALARM AND PUMP TO BE WIRED TO DIFFERENT CIRCUITS.
4.) ALL PUMP, WIRING, ALARM, AND FLOAT INSTALLATIONS SHALL CONFORM TO MASSACHUSETTS
STATE PLUMBING AND MASSACHUSETTS STATE ELECTRICAL CODES AS WELL AS TO
MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.
5.) PUMP SHALL BE LIBERTY LE41A SERIES it PUMP (OR EQUAL) MEETING MAXIMUM
REQUIREMENTS OF 34 GPM AND 10.9' OF TOTAL DYNAMIC HEAD. INSTALLER TO VERIFY PUMP
WITH MANUFACTURER FOR FLOW AND TDH.
6.) 30" FROM PUMP ON FLOAT TO INLET INVERT PROVIDES 336 GALLONS OF STORAGE.
