The building is two stories with a partial basement. The structure is essentially of wood frame (Type V) construction with exterior common hallways access to the residential rooms. The building is non- sprinklered. Fire alarm system components(devices and wiring)will be totally Upgraded to a new addressable system. This includes the following: • Addressable heat detection in the basement and each of the residential units. • Classical heat detectors in the attic spaces reporting on monitor modules as single zone for each wing. • Low frequency sounders in every residential unit. • Low frequency sounders with strobes in the handy capped units (units 115& 116). • Exterior horn strobes in the exterior corridors. • Addressable manual pull stations • General area addressable system smoke detection and CO Detection will be added in the first-floor laundry room. office area.restaurant and lobby. The CO alarms will be identified and ring as a supervisory alarm to the central monitoring station. • New Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel with Central Station Alarm reporting Interface. • Local l20-volt. hard wired smoke alarms will be in each residential unit and in bedrooms of Suits. • The system will continue to report to a central station alarm service. This cosmetic work at this facility is classified as a repair per Section 404 of the IEBC in conformance with 780 CMR. The Fire Alarm System is being fully- upgraded to enhance occupant safety beyond that required by the original code. A fire alarm system matrix is provided in Attachment 1 to this narrative report. DF-52384:D•E-160 SD355(A) Series Flre•LITe®ALarms Addressable Photoelectric Smoke Detectors by Honeywell Addressable Devices General The SD355(A), SD355T(A), and SD355R(A) addressable, low-profile plug-in photoelectric detectors use a state-of-the- art photoelectric sensing chamber with communications to provide open area protection and are used exclusively with Fire•Lite's Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs). The SD355T(A)adds thermal sensors that will alarm at a fixed ('f temperature of 135°F (57°C). Since these detectors are att addressable, they will help emergency personnel quickly locate a fire during its early stages, potentially saving precious IN rescue time while also reducing property damage. Two LEDs on each sensor light to provide a local, visible sensor indica- tion. Remote LED annunciator capability is available as an optional accessory, PN RA100Z(A). The SD355R(A) is a SD355(A) in B210LP(A) Base remote test capable detector for use with D355PL(A) or DNR(A)/DNRW duct smoke detector housings.
