This system will consist of 12 Q-Peak duo BLK-ML-G10 PLUS 400W, and 12 Enphase IQBPlus-72-2-US (240V) microinverters. The dimensions for each solar panel are 74 inches by 41.1 inches. The total roof area on this building is 1314.90 square feet, and the total panel array area will be 254 square feet. The total percentage of the roof to be covered by panels is 19.31 %. There are two panel arrays to be installed, covering two roof planes. There are to be no panels installed on the roof facing the street, per the comments from the OKH committee. The work on this project includes the installation of attachments, rails, solar panels, and microinverters on the roof, PV equipment grounding, PV disconnects, PV final commissioning, and labels placed in accordance with local building/electrical codes. The rails and attachments for the solar panels will not be visible from the street, and will be positioned underneath the panel arrays. The rails and attachments used for this project will all be black. This project will use SnapNRack - Flashed L Foot attachments and SnapNRack - Ultra Rails. The roof shingles will not need to be cut for these attachments. This project will use microinverters located underneath each panel, as this limits the number of conspicuous pieces of equipment on the exterior of the building. The installed technology will not be visible from the street. The panels are to be positioned on roof planes which are not visible from the street. The colors of the materials to be used in this project have been chosen based on the existing color palette of this building. The solar panels to be installed will be black to minimize the visual impact of the installation. A gray combiner box and a gray AC disconnect safety switch will be installed near the existing meter on the side of the house. The existing siding of the house is made of weathered wood shingles, which have faded to gray. This project will not alter the "footprint" of the building, the foundation, or any structural aspects of the building. There will be no alterations to, or removal of, materials comprising the existing facade of the building. The only change is to be the addition of solar panels, and the necessary electrical equipment associated with the solar panels. Please refer to the photo packet for images of the building/property. There is a section within the packet titled "supplemental photos" which details the color palette present on the building. The general specification sheet form also contains this information, but in less detail. The following pages of this document contain images of the visible or exterior materials to be installed on this project. For reference, photos of completed solar installations done by Second Generation Energy (SGE) utilizing this model of solar panel have been included in the following pages as well. Specification sheets for the solar panels and combiner box have boon provided in a separate document. There are additional specification sheets in the back pages of the plan -set for materials that will not be visible after the installation is complete (i. e. microinverters, rails, attachments). r Y 2 To Be Installed - Solar Panels Safety Disconnect Switch Brand - Q-cells Model - Q-peak duo BLACK G10 - 400W Color - Black # of panels - 12 Location - roof MAY 2 3 2023 YARMOW E, Brand - Eaton Color - Gray # to be installed on exterior of building - 1 Location - exterior side of the house, near the existing utility meter 0 3 7-T Photovoltaic Combiner Box 3 Brand - Enphase Model - IQ Combiner 4 Color - Gray # to be installed on exterior of building - 1 Location - exterior side of the house, near the existing utility meter MAY 2 3 2023 YAHMOU1 h These two photos are of solar installations done by SGE using the same panel model chosen for this project - Q-peak duo black G10. Our home has solar panels installed on it and we, as the homeowners, are currently benefiting from their energy production as a result. We could not be more in favor of other homeowners who choose to invest in roof -top solar panels. The project you propose should be viewed as the installation of a section of the electrical utility, which is not under the purview of the OKH committees. As I read the purpose of Chapter 470 of the Acts of 1973 establishing the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District, it is to `promote the general welfare of the inhabitants' of the towns included therein. This is to be accomplished by the `preservation and protection of the buildings, settings and places ... as existed in the early days of Cape Cod'. Your home, John and Mary -Jane, did not exist in the early days of Cape Cod. Not even close. Route 6A did exist and on that historic mute are many historic homes. We know your home is near Route 6A. But, it is not on Route 6A. So, i strongly believe that the Yarmouth Old King's Highway committee erred in its decision to deny your solar array. You did not purchase an historic home on an iconic historic byway. If you had, you likely would have willingly taken on the responsibility to preserve its aesthetics for as long as you owned it. But you purchased a home constructed in the second half of the 201' century, taken on its routine maintenance and have made many improvements based on 20'h and 21' century technology. The addition of an efficient solar array also will be based on current technology, which is exactly appropriate for your home. Essentially, you are preserving and protecting the building over which you have direct control — your own home. The Yarmouth OKH acted capriciously in its denial. If they had acted consistently, they would have approved the panels based on the fact that the general welfare of the inhabitants of Winter Street has not suffered from similar installations on the same street. By the way, we watched the review of your application to the town committee and were appalled when the Chair of the committee read a letter opposing your application and had neither the decorum nor decency to attribute its origin. We all have the right to face our opponents. This right, this common courtesy, was denied you. May more balanced and logical heads prevail at the appeal of your application before the Regional Commission.
