Dear Mr. Murphy: sewage system designs At the request of Michael Weber of Physiotherapy Associates, I have made an analysis of the system serving the Cranberry Bog Factory Outlet at 316 Route 28, West inspections Yarmouth. According to the installer's card and engineered plans of the system, the septic tank and permits the soil absorption system consist of a 1500 gallon septic tank and 12 Flowdiffusors with 2' of stone surround. Under the 1978 Code the capacity of this system would be 800 gallons per day. The calculation follows: Bottom area: 20' x 28' x 1 gpd/sf= 560 gpd Side area: (20 x 2 + 28 x 2) (2.5 gpd/sf) = 240 gpd Total: 800 gpd (there is a calculation error on the engineer's plan) My review of the plan would indicate that there is sufficient area to install a new Title 5 i system under the present code, should that become necessary in the future. In conclusion, it appears that the proposed change in flow resulting from the change of 5000 sf from retail to professional office use can be accommodated by the design capacity of the present system. Very truly/yours, ` -4644,4- C2(L4) Arne H. Ojala, PE, PLS Down Cape Engineering, Inc. cc: M. Weber
