THE PURPOSE OF THIS NARRATIVE IS TO DESCRIBE THE FIRE PROTECTION SPRINKLER SYSTEM AT 17 CORPORATION RD. IN 1. SYSTEM DESIGN AND INSTALLATION TO CONFORM TO N.F.RA. 13,14 LATEST EDITION AND THE
YARMOUTH, MA.
MASSACHUSETTS STATE BUILDING CODE - 9TH EDITION
THIS IS A NEW 1 STORY COMMERCIAL BUILDING, BUILDING STRUCTURE IS STEEL. TOTAL FLOOR AREA: 7,080 SQ. FT. A NEW WET 2. ALL MATERIAL, DESIGN AND WORKMANSHIP TO CONFORM TO N.F.P.A. 13, THE LOCAL FIRE
SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED THROUGHOUTTHE BUILDING. BUILDING SHALL BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DEPARTMENT AND ALL APPLICABLE CODES.
STORAGE. THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13, 2013 EDITION. BUILDING DESIGNED FOR 3. ALL NEW PIPING 1-1/4" AND SMALLER TO BE SCHEDULE 40 BLACK STEEL WITH CAST IRON SCREWED
VEHICLE STORAGE AND VEHICLE REPAIRS. ANYADDITIONAL STORAGE APPLICATION BEYOND THIS DESIGN NOT INCLUDED, FITTINGS. ALL NEW PIPING 1-1/2" AND LARGER TO BE SCHEDULE 10 BLACK STEEL WITH GROOVED
THE PROPOSED NEW SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE CONNECTED TO THE NEW 6" SERVICE (PROVIDED BY OTHERS). COUPLINGS, FITTINGS, MECHANICALTEES AND WELDED OUTLETS.
THE SCOPE OF WORK CONSIST OF A NEW AUTOMATIC WET SPRINKLER SYSTEM THAT IS FED FROM THE RISER ASSEMBLY LOCATED 4. INSPECTORS TESTAND DRAIN ASSEMBLY LOCATIONS SHALL BE APPROVED BYAHJ, ARCHITECTAND
IN THIS AREA (SEE DRAWING FOR DETAILS). THE NEW 6' BACKFLOW PREVENTER AND 6" WET RISER CHECK ARE LOCATED IN THIS OWNER.
AREA. THE WET SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS SUPPLYING THE ENTIRE BUILDING.
5. ALL SPRINKLER HEADS SHALL BE QUICK RESPONSE TYPE. SEE SPRINKLER LEGEND FOR TYPE AND
THE SYSTEM SHALL BE ACTIVATED WHEN A HEAT SOURCE WOULD FUSE A FIRE SPRINKLER HEAD, CAUSING THE HEAD TO OPEN AND QUANTITIES. PER NFPA13 8.3.2.5 - SPRINKLERS LOCATED WITHIN 2'-6" OF HEAT SOURCES SHALL
FLOW WATER, WHICH SIMULTANEOUSLY TRIGGERS THE ALARM SYSTEM THAT WILL SIGNAL TO THE LOCAL FIRE DEPT. AND AN REQUIRE INTERMEDIATE TEMPERATURE SPRINKLER HEADS. SPRINKLER HEADS IN STORAGE AND
APPROVED CENTRAL LOCATION. MECHANICAL AREA SHALL HAVE CAGES.
THE BUILDING SHALL BE FITTED WITH AN AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM SYSTEM (BY OTHERS) THAT SHALL PROVIDE AN AUDIBLE ALARM 6. FIRE STOP PROVIDED AT ALL PIPING PENETRATIONS THROUGH RATED WALLS.
UPON ACTIVATION OF A FIRE SPRINKLER HEAD AND/OR TEST VALVE.
7. ALL PIPES SHALL BE SUPPORTED PER N.F.P.A. 13, 2013 EDITION AND MANUFACTURERS
