The intended purpose of the total demolition is to enable construction of a new house. A Notice of Intent to Demolish A Historic Building form was filed with the Yarmouth Historical Commission on February 16, 2023 by David Palmer on behalf of CrestValley Development LLC, the owner of the property. While noting that the house is over 75 years old, the Commission agreed unanimously that the structure is not historically significant and also is in very poor condition.
