Hi Lisa, Thank you for forwarding the information about 9 Wellfleet Avenue in Yarmouth. I think there are two ways you could proceed from here, depending on the town's preference: 1. If the town is prepared to formally refer the project to the Cape Cod Commission (CCC), using the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) referral form on the CCC website, the CCC would wait for the referral and then notify the applicant of the timeframe for filing a DRI application and beginning the public hearing process. 2. Alternatively, CCC staff could meet with the applicant and town staff, preferably on -site, to hear the proposal and explain the CCC's regulatory process and Cultural Heritage standards. Based on CCC standards, the applicant may decide to reconsider some aspects of their proposal to be more consistent with CCC standards. In particular, it may be helpful for the applicant to hear that demolition of a property on the National Register of Historic Places is unlikely to be approved by the CCC. I have copied Jordan Velozo, our Chief Regulatory Officer, in case the town has any questions about making the DRI referral. If you would prefer to schedule a meeting on -site with the applicant, please let me know and we can identify a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday that I can attend. Sincerely, Sarah Sarah Korjeff ? The Yarmouth Historical Commission has received a demolition request for a house located in the Yarmouth Campground, which is an historic district. The request is for a complete demolition due to the condition of the house (built in 1875). The Yarmouth Historical Commission met on May 11 and referred the request to the Cape Cod Commission for review since this is a total demolition and rebuild of the house. have attached the information provided by the architect and contractor, and a letter from the Campground Association. The owner, contractor, and architect are happy to provide a site visit and walkthrough of the house at your convenience. Please take a look at the attached and let me !snow your thoughts and how we need to proceed. As always, thank you for your assistance and expertise!
