To Whom It May Concern,
Upon the request of your electrical contractor, I met with him today to review the damage
caused by the flooding within your home at the subject location.
The wiring in the area of the basement will have to be brought up to code and depending on
the type of ceiling that will be installed,may require the relocation of several wires and
fixtures. The basement bathroom will also require proper lighting, a receptacle, and an
exhaust fan to be installed.
Within the first-floor kitchen area the sheet rock will have to be partially removed wiring
tested and additional devices installed and appliance wiring as required by Massachusetts
Electrical Code 527 CMR 12.00.
I would also like to suggest that you strongly consider the installation of smoke detectors and
combination smoke & CO detectors throughout the house. Based on the age of the house and
the amount of personal property within it could save a loss by fire or potential injury to
anyone staying at the property.
