SUBJECT: 115 River Street—Demolition Request
The Yarmouth Historical Commission reviewed a request to demolish. The intended purpose of the
partial demolition was to make alterations and additions to the dwelling.
There was an initial public meeting held by the Yarmouth Historical Commission on September 17,2020
to review the demolition request. The Commission voted unanimously that the building maintain
historical significance. The structure at 115 River Street, South Yarmouth is over 75 years old which is
located within the confines of the Bass River Historic District. The dwelling is listed as a contributing
building on the district data sheet as the "EIisha Parker House" for the Greek revival architecture which
was built circa 1836. On June 10, 2021 the Yarmouth Historical Commission voted unanimously to the
partial demolition in accordance to the submitted revised plans which preserve the character defining
features of the building.
