The netitioner requested permit to allow construction of three additions,
measuring about 5' x 20' x 35' and lid' x 45' to existing buildings located
at the Hyannis Marine Service; Arlington St., Hyannis Park, West Yarmouth.

It appearing that notice of said hearing has been given by sending notice
thereof to the petitioner and all thosw owners of property deemed by the
Board to be affected thereby, and that public notice of such hearing having
been given by publication in the Cape Cod Standard Times on 10/17, 24/63,
the hearing was opened and held on the date first above written,
The following appeared

Clarence D' intrenont
Joseph Murphy
Anthony Platani
The following appeared
Gersh m D. Hall
Alan Sidney Cohen
in favor of the petitiont
represented case.
in opposition:
Reason for Decision: It appeared at the hearing that the petitioner plans tc
completely remodel his existing facilities. The additions requested are as
follows:
The present office facing Arlington Street would be squared off and this
would be a 15 ft. by 20 ft. addition. A 20 ft. by 35 ft. addition wouba be
made connecting the present office with the present shop. TFh present, shop
would have an addition of IQ by 45 ft. which sets well into the petitioner's
property and is removed more than 50 ft. from Arlington Street.
Aside from giving the petitioner space which it appeared was necessary, it
further appeared from the sketch plans of the completed project that the on
tire premises would be made into one building which would be completely re-
modeled on the outside and present a much better appearance from the street.
In view jo the fact that prior business has been in existence and in view
of the normal growth of the petitioner's business, it appeared to the board
twat this was a reasonable type of expansion.
It appeared that the intent of the by-laws which provide for an extension,
of non -conforming uses on the approval of the Board would be followed. If
further appeared the public good would not be adversely affected by favorab'l
acting upon this petition.
It is noted that the Hyannis Civic Association of many residents in the
Hyannis Park section desire to be recorded as neutral regarding their views
concerning the petition.
Therefore the .request far an extension of a non --conforming use Is allowed
ancY the Board will allow the construction of three additions measuring 15 ft.
by 20 ft. by 35 ft., and 14 ft. by 45 ft. to existing buildings.
Members of Board voting:
ilar.old L. Hayes Jr. _ in fat>cr
