Celia October 26, 2023 8 Arrowhead Drive Return Receipt: 7018 0360 0000 5548 6801 Yarmouth Port, MA 02675 RE: Shed violation at 8 Arrowhead Drive Dear Ms. Celia, I have spoken with Mark Grylls, the Yarmouth Building Commissioner, regarding the ongoing shed violation at your property at 8 Arrowhead Drive. As you know, approval for this shed was denied by the Old King's Highway Historic District Committee and consequently a building permit was never issued for this structure. Although the OKH Committee is well within its purview to enforce the removal or remodeling of this structure to conform with our accepted design guidelines, i.e., removal of the Gambrel roof, we will allow it to remain in this instance given the specific location of this property. In no way is this to be construed as establishing a precedent for any other individuals to build any structure in violation of the ordinance and ask for forgiveness after the fact. This approval comes with the following conditions: 1. The color of the shed must be changed to deemphasize the Gambrel roof form and the color chosen must be from the list of OKH historic colors 2. The string of lights on the rake that emphasize the Gambrel roof must be removed 3. Plantings must be placed in such a way as to shield the shed from street view Proposed colors must be submitted to me for approval. The above list must be completed within 30 days to clear the violations.
