We are writing to let you know that as an abutter to the Tugboats properties, we strongly oppose this request to allow
entertainment music at the restaurant for the following petition:
Petition 5063
Harbour Club Inc, dba Tugboats Restaurant
11 & 21 Arlington St, West Yarmouth, MA
Applicant seeks a Special Permit per section 104.3.2(4) for N3 Use to allow entertainment music at restaurant.
HEARING DATE: November 9, 2023
Our family has owned our home on Bayview St for more than 60 years and we are very much against bringing this type
of nightclub atmosphere to our residential neighborhood. We are opposed to this entertainment request because the
loud noise, music, yelling/singing and traffic/crowds will be unbearable. We have young children and this wil negatively
impact our ability to enjoy our home and to have peace and quiet especially late into the evening. This request does not
provide any benefit to the homeowners/residents and it is so unfair to allow a nightclub atmosphere in our residential
area. Entertainment of this nature is more appropriate to be located on Main St or Route 28, not in the middle of a
densely populated neighborhood and hospital zone with a high influx of people visiting sick family and friends.
The current situation at Trader Eds is an example of how loud and uncomfortable the music is and the noise carries
because of the wind conditions. The music get louder as the evening goes on and continues loudly well after midnight.
Upon leaving Trader Eds, patrons are then walking around the neighborhood yelling and waking our family.
We are asking the Board to ensure the interests of homeowners and residents are considered and represented. We ask
that you reiect this request.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide our comments and concerns. Unfortunately, we are unable to attend the
meeting but look forward to hearing your final decision.
Sincerely,
Janet Wholley & Jo -Ann Pisacreta
