310 CMR 10.32(3) and (4)- Because of its east-west orientation there will likely be shading impacts from the bridge
structure and allowing adequate light penetration to the vegetation is essential.The structure should be elevated at
least as great as the width within the bordering vegetated wetland and the vegetated portions of the coastal dune.
The spacing between decking should be no less than 3/4" and it is recommended that light penetrating decking
alternatives be considered.The Conservation Commission and proponent are advised to consult MassDEP's Guide to
Permitting Small Docks and Piers (https://www.mass.gov/doc/permitting-small-pile-supported-docks-and-piers-
guidance/download).
