Zoning Board of Appeals Administrator YAPVTT LTN
BOARD OF APPEALS
Dear Ms. Fallon,
I am writing to make a public comment concerning the appeal hearing of Harborside Suites
which will appear before the Board on January 11, 2024. I am requesting that the Board
stand firm in their decision that the occupants of said motel, who are transients, are in
violation of the Town of Yarmouth bylaws.
Precedent has been set in this regard. In 2011, there were 125 occupants of the Cavalier
Motel who were deemed transients and evicted for failure to comply with the long-term
rental bylaws, which allow no more than 90 day stays. Since those occupants were evicted
for the very same bylaw violation, it is implausible that the current occupants at the
Harborside Suites would be allowed to remain.
Also, in addition to written comments, 1 am requesting that the Board hear
public comments on this matter based upon the following information that is on
the Town of Yarmouth website.
"The Board Chair asks if any audience members wish to speak. Correspondence
received about the petition is admitted into the record. Then, the Board Chair
closes the public input portion of the hearing.
Thank you for your time and attention in this regard.
Sincerely,
Eileen Starrs
