Project Description (narrative):
Demolition of existing motel buildings; construction of 40 units of affordable rental housing in two new two-story buildings,
with driveway, parking, playground and bus shelter.

Demolition will include all four existing one- and two-story wood -frame motel buildings, containing 43 rooms, one
efficiency and one apartment, including indoor pool.

Yes. Two new two-story buildings will be constructed. Each will contain 20 apartments; one will also house a
management office and community room. Please see attached plans, elevations and renderings.

We found no listing for the property in MACRIS.
Historical Sources (research by BETA Group)
BETA reviewed historical Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for the Town of Yarmouth dated November 1932
and November 1932-February 1938. BETA's review of the Sanborn Maps revealed coverage was not
available for the site or site vicinity.
BETA reviewed historical USGS Topographic Quadrangles dated 1889, 1893, 1898, 1905, 1912, 1923,
1932, 1942, 1943, 1950, 1958, 1960, 1963, 1967, 1976, 1978, 1981, 2012, 2015, and 2018 on
Wtoricaerials.com. The topographic maps dated 1889-1942 depict several structures in the vicinity along
Route 28. The topographic maps dated 1943-1960 depict a structure on the northeastern portion of the site
in the current vicinity of Building 1. More structures are sho Am,south and east of Building I and are
assumed to be the adjacent residential complex. The topographic maps dated 1963 and 1967 depict the
current site structures as two large rectangular structures on the western and eastern portions of the site.
The topographic maps dated 1976-2018 do not show any structures due to the scale of the maps.
BETA reviewed aerial photographs dated 1938, 1971, 1994, 1995, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010,
2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016 on historicaerials.com. The aerial photograph dated 1938 depicts Building 1
on the northeastern portion of the site with a smaller footprint and the remaining portions of the site
undeveloped. The aerial photograph dated 1971 depicts all four site structures including the swimming
pool. However, at this time the northern portion of the structure had not yet been constructed and the
swimming pool is not enclosed or connected to Building 3. The remaining photographs depict the site
with similar conditions to those observed during BETA's April 2020 visual assessment.
