HomeMy WebLinkAbout214 Pleasant Street Letter from owners regarding hist sign items 03.29.2010March 29, 2010 Dear Yarmouth Historic Commission, Thank you for having us at your last meeting regarding our application for the demolition of the home located at 214 Pleasant Street in South Yarmouth. It was a pleasure meeting you all. As we stated during the meeting, the old part of the existing house does not fit into our plans for the property. We do realize however that the wide plank flooring, old fireplace wood paneling, iron fireplace accessories, hewn ceiling beams, door and hardware as well as some windows are of value. We are giving some consideration to using some of these parts from the "old house" in the renovation of the existing guest cottage on the property, just not sure of the feasibility of this at the present time. We would like to donate to the Yarmouth Historical Commission the items not used in this renovation. We would like permission to start removing the historically significant items from the house as soon as possible to store them safely away in case of vandalism, which could occur when attention is publicly drawn to our property. Also, we would like to ask if we could have permission to demolish in the near future the other portions of the building including the garage, which are not deemed of historical value. We appreciate your consideration. Sincerely, !1 _ Tom and Deborah Coleman MAR 2 9 10 Hidden Brick Road Hopkinton, MA 01748 YARNI.---J [:?UTH HIS iORlCAL COJAM1 Sj(),+j
