If so, soils will be ripped to theappropriate depth to de-compact soils.·Once it is determined that underlying soils are notover-compacted, native fill will be placed to re-establishpre-existing topographic profile. A 4-6" layer of clean,free-draining loam may be placed at the top of the soil profile,if necessary.MITIGATION AND RESTORATION AREA ESTABLISHMENT:·Install new siltation barrier at the 50' buffer/edge of restorationarea so that construction of site improvements can continuewithout disturbing the mitigation or restoration areas.·Hydroseed the mitigation and restoration areas with ProGanicsbiotic soil media and the FlexTerra erosion control system toincrease seed to soil contact, improve germination, anddecrease erosion potential.RESTORATION/MITIGATION PLANTINGS:·Restoration plantings within the 35' buffer to be installedimmediately after fill material has been removed and gradeshave been restored.·Mitigation plantings within the 35'-50' buffer to be installed onceconstruction activities are complete or as soon as feasible.·All plantings to be installed in the spring or fall unlesssupplemental irrigation is provided immediately after planting.SUPPLEMENTAL IRRIGATION:·Install a temporary, above-ground irrigation system to providesupplemental water to all plantings for 2-3 growing seasons, oruntil plants are fully established.MAINTENANCE & ESTABLISHMENT FOR ALL NATURALIZED AREAS(3 SEASONS MIN.):·Monitor mitigation/restoration area and perform maintenancecut and wipe treatments or hand weed invasive, non-native,and aggressive species.·Mow/cut cool season grasses in June to encourageestablishment of warm-season grasses, if necessary.APPLICATOR & OVERSIGHT QUALIFICATIONS:·Herbicide application will only be completed by Massachusettsstate-licensed and insured pesticide applicators knowledgeablewith invasive, non-native, and native plant identification, bothin-leaf and bare-twig.·All restoration work will be overseen by a Certified EcologicalRestoration Practitioner (CERP).ANNUAL MONITORING REPORTS:Submit annual monitoring reports each year for three years to theConservation Commission. Annual monitoring reports should include:·Representative project area photographs·Project activities completed to-date·Anticipated activities to be completed during the next year·Assessment of invasive species management progress·Assessment of restoration planting establishment·Recommendations for any changes in land managementtechniques necessary to ensure the success of the project·Any unexpected or arbitrary changes to the project areaMITIGATION PLANT SCHEDULEWOODY SHRUBSAronia melanocarpaChokeberry9#2 - #5Clethra alnifoliaSummersweet6#2 - #5Morella pensylvanicaBayberry12#3 - #5Restoration Seed Mix:Carex brevior (Plains Oval Sedge), Danthonia spicata(Poverty Oat Grass), Schizachyrium scoparium (LittleBluestem), Sporobolus cryptandrus (Sand Dropseed)RESTORATION PLANT SCHEDULESCIENTIFIC NAMECOMMON NAMEQTY.SIZETREESAcer rubrumRed maple3#15 or equiv.WOODY SHRUBSIlex verticillataWinterberry12#3 - #5Viburnum trilobumCranberrybush4#3 - #5SCALE:DATE:All rights reserved.
