Subject: RE: 246A Pleasant St, SY- SITE VISIT INVITATION
Beth,
Mike Ford contacted me about this project and encouraged me to meet him and John Richards on site today since I couldn't
attend tomorrow's site visit.
After meeting with them this afternoon, I understand they will go ahead with tomorrow's site visit but will wait to bring plans
before the Historical Commission until after we discuss some concerns I have. I am not ready to write formal comments yet, but
I am particularly concerned that the proposed plan masks the original Half Cape form of the building amid proposed additions. I
also have concerns about removing the left hand side of the building, which is clearly an old structure and seems to be part of
the building's early history.
Please let the Historical Commission members know that I have visited the site and will be preparing comments for their review
later. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Importance: High
Hi Sarah -
Long time no see.
This Friday, March 0, the Yarmouth Historical Commission is attending a site visit at 246A Pleasant St, South Yarmouth. Thus is
a c1780 home that resides in the South Yarmouth/ Bass River Historic District and is being proposed for partial demolition and
renovations. John Richards, President of John T. Richards Builders Inc., will be taking the group on a tour of the house followed
by a meeting back at the Town Hall where he will present his renovation plans. John is very passionate about this house and
has {.:ome in`ormation to share which he discovered while researching the history of the home. John suggested, and I agree, that
it would be beneficial if you were able to join us. Your input would help to expedite the YHC decisions regarding the significance
of the sections proposed for demolition and the substantialness of the renovations, which in turn will allow John to move
forward with his plans with hopefully little to no delay.
I know it's short notice, so 1 hope you are available to join us. We are planning on meeting at 246A Pleasant at 9:00am followed
by a 10:00am meeting in room B at the Town Half.
Please let me know if you will be joining us so that I can give John a head count,
look forward to hopefully seeing you soon.
Thank you,
-Beth
