Previously Boat Works (retail boat models and parts) Mrs. Dios wants to have retail jewelry store which will be in keeping with the lovely historical area. It will be the same size and on the same footprint as the existing structure with new parking (parking historically shared with both properties she owns. Description of structure: This property is one of two Mrs. Dios owns (1363 Bridge Street is historically on same deed). In a well -traveled area right before the Bass River Bridge. It is an ancient wood framed structure. Un-Inhabitable in present condition and an eye sore. Sagging roof and wails makes it impossible to remodel as it is structurally unsound and has peeling paint, rotting siding and roof shingles.. Your files have these properties combined. The other parcel (1363 Bridge Street) has a building which will be remodeled at some point by Jane Dios (they are already doing some repairs). We are only doing demolition and rebuild on 1361 Bridae Street. Provide photographs of structure and area. (Attach to application) Historically a retail establishment and may have been a jewelry store at one point Written history of structure if know: Bass River Boat Works until purchased by Jane Dios. We are not sure what it was used for before 1946 but most likely a retail establishment of some sort. This (1361 Bridge Street) property was part of another parcel that is presently a gas station to the right. It was owned by Ralph Marden. In (Ralph Marden Plan Book 75 page 121 Barnstable County Registry of Deeds) October 1946 was subdivided from the gas station property. At that time the property according to the deed and plan was given a Right of Way in order to access the back of the building where there is a storage structure. It then was sold to Bessie Hoffman in 1950. Bessie Hoffman (Book 2534 Page 195 in June of 1977) used as a retail store. Since 1977 these properties have been on same deed which I have attached along with other deeds and maps. The property was sold to Martha Reed by Bessie Hoffman in 1977 and in 1985 sold to Dr. and Mrs. Robert Bauer. Both Parcels although having two separate tax records were combined as one as a RETAIL establishment with shared parking. These previous owners Dr. and Mrs. Bauer had a retail store sold model decorative wooden boats and wooden boat parts. (Bass River Boat Works).
