On Friday, July 23, 2010, members of the Yarmouth Historic Commission paid a
site visit to this address to evaluate whether the property is a significant structure
that enhances the history, architecture, and culture of Yarmouth.
Because there was a quorum present, the members were able to vote on the
house's significance at the end of the tour. They found that the historic integrity
of the house had been compromised by previously approved renovations. The
members voted unanimously that a demolition delay was not warranted for this
building.
The homeowners are, therefore, released from any requirements by the Historic
Commission. They are free to pursue the construction of their new residence
subject to the requirements of other town departments such as the Building
Department.
