Dear Mr. & Mrs. Becker, This is to inform you that an application for a demolition permit for the removal of all structures located at 29 Scallop Road was submitted to the Building Department on March 31, 2016, initiating the demolition delay process. Please refer to the Yarmouth Town By -Law, Chapter 92: Historic Properties for procedure details. I have enclosed a copy for your ease of reference. The first step in this process was for the Yarmouth Historic Commission to meet, which they did on April 14, 2016 and voted unanimously in their decision that the original portion of one of the structures being proposed for demolition is a significant structure as defined in section 92-2 of the By -Law. This determination brings us to the next step in the demolition delay process which is to hold a public hearing. This public hearing has been scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:OOAM in the Hearing Room at the Yarmouth Town Hall. The attached legal notice will be published in The Register on Thursday, April 21st and Thursday, April 28th. As far as we know, there are no plans for new construction at this time. I believe it is the Owner's intent to clear and prepare this lot for sale as a "buildable" lot. Please don't hesitate to contact me at (508)398-2231 ext.1292, should you have any questions.
