GENERAL NOTES
1. ELEVATIONS REFER TO NAVD; CONTACT CAPE COD ENGINEERING, INC. TO TRANSFER THE
BENCHMARK AND SET THE DECK ELEVATION. MLW DEPTHS ARE SHOWN AS PARENTHETICAL
NEGATIVE VALUES
2. ALL DEBRIS FROM THE EXISTING PIER WORK SHALL BE CONTAINED AND REMOVED DIRECTLY FROM
THE WATERWAY WITH OFF -SITE DISPOSAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL
REQUIREMENTS.
3. THE WORK SITE SHALL BE MAINTAINED FREE OF ANY CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, CUT-OFFS, OR THE
LIKE.
4. THE EXISTING MAIN STEM OF THE PILE SUPPORTED PIER IS LICENSED BY MA DPW LICENSE 1230
ISSUED IN 1930.
5. CONSTRUCTION ACCESS SHALL BE PRIMARILY VIA BARGE BY THE RIVER WITH LIMITED ACCESS
DIRECTLY THROUGH THE PROPERTY.
6. WHERE NAVIGABLE WATER PERMITS, PILINGS SHALL BE HAMMER DRIVEN. MINIMUM PILING
EMBEDMENT DEPTH SHALL BE 12 FT.; 16 FT. BEYOND THE 8 FT. MLW DEPTH.
7. HARDWARE IS RECOMMENDED TO MEET THE AWPA EXPOSURE SPECIFICATION AC257 FOR
ANTI -CORROSION PROTECTION. ALL HARDWARE USED FOR CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE OF HOT DIP
GALVANIZED STEEL OR EQUAL.
8. ANY JOIST HANGERS USED IN THE FRAME SHALL BE OF STAINLESS STEEL.
9. ALL TIMBER USED SHALL BE CONSISTENT WITH YARMOUTH CONSERVATION COMMISSION
REQUIREMENTS: NATURAL WOOD, COMPOSITE OR RE -PURPOSED, PREVIOULY USED CCA SYP
PILINGS. PROVIDE PILE CAPS
10. SEE TYPICAL DETAILS FOR GENERAL FRAMING REQUIREMENTS.
11. PILE SPACING ALONG THE PIER SHALL BE INCREASED FROM THE 10 FT. SPACING TO 12 FT. SPACING.
12. DECK PLANK SPACING SHALL BE A MINIMUM 3/4 INCH OR AS SPECIFIED BY THE CONSERVATION
COMMISSION
