MA0]66,+ 19 ALPINE STREET.2024 RENEWAL TOWN OFYARMOUTH HOUSING AND SPACE.USE BYLAW CHAPTER I08 108.2 No person shall rent or lease, or offer to rent or lease, any building or any portion ofa building to be used for human habitation without flrrst registering with the Board of Health, which shall determine the number ofpersons such building or portion ofa building may lawfully accommodate under the provisions ofthe Massachusetts State Sanitary Codc. and without first also conspicuously posting within such building or portion ofa building a certificate ofregistratiorl provided by the Board of Health specifying the number ofpcrsons such a building or portion ofa building may lawfully accommodatc. I 08.4 There shall be a fee to procure a certificate of registration, which shall be valid for one ( I ) year or to December 3 I of each year. rvhichever is sooncr Thcreaftcr the pcrmit shall be annually renerved. 108.5 A pernrit issued under this chapter shall be revoked it', at any time, the licensing authorities are satistled that the licensee is unfit to hold the license. They may suspend and make inoperative, for such period of time as they may deem proper, the permit mentioned herein for any cause deemed satisf'actory to them- The revocation and suspension shall not be made until after investjgation and a hearing or aftcr giving the liccnsee an opportunity to be heard. Notice of the hearing shall be delivered to the permittee not less than three (3) days before the time of the said hearing. 108 6 Any person or tenant violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hundred dollars (5200.00). Each day's violation constitutes a separate ot'fense. 108.8 Thc owrcrs of all rental units. as dehned in 108.2, shall be requircd to certify annually that operating smoke detectors havc bcen placcd in the rental unit. Thc smoke dctectors and locations thcreof shall be satisfactory to the Yarmouth Firc Dcpartmenl. NoTE: Carbon Monoxide Detectors are required in any dwelling with oil, Gas, Coal, or wood-buming equipment and/ora structurally cncloscd or attached garage in accordance with MGL t4g. sec. 26F12 and 527cMRl 1.00 MUST BE POSTED ON PREMISES Certifi cate Number: BHR-24-245
