RE: Unlicensed personnel performing electrical work
Dear Mr. Whalen;
On December 22, 2022, I received notification that new electrical work appeared to have been done
at 388 North Main Street in Yarmouth. While subsequently visiting the site, a person who
identified himself as your foreman, with your vehicles and crew wearing clothing with logos
matching your company vehicles, indicated he replaced an electrical box and installed temporary
lighting. I am sending you this letter as a courtesy.
Per M.G.L Ch 143 §3L, no person shall perform any wiring unless said person is licensed by the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Board of State Examiners of Electrician. Any work done by
another may be considered a danger to the public. Should any future occurrences arise, a complaint
for each person will be filed with the district attorney's office and the Division of Professional
Licensure.
I am required to send a letter to the owner of the property to notify them of possible dangers to
persons and property. You must retain the services of a licensed electrician with respect to what
your employee has done.
If you have any questions, please contact this office.
Sincerely,
AJ Pulley,
Assistant Inspector of Wires
