Thank you, Jahayra Attachment Reads: To: Hotel Owner From: Massachusetts Office for Refugee and Immigrants Re: Immigrant mail after transfer to other shelters. i Dear Hotel Owner/Clerk, The Office of Refugee and Immigrants is writing regarding the transfers of immigrants from your hotel. First, we would like to thank you for opening your doors and welcoming immigrants over the past months.Without your valued partnership, these families would have faced extremely difficult circumstances. We are writing to ask your assistance with critical mail addressed to the immigrant families currently staying at your hotel, during and after the transfer of the immigrants to a new shelter. As you know many immigrants are in the process of applying for work authorization and therefore may receive their work authorization cards or biometrics notice for an extremely urgent appointment at your hotel address.Without these documents, families cannot begin their immigrant journey in the United States. It is extremely important that your hotel staff is aware that you need to keep this mail rather than throw it away or put"return to sender."The Office for Refugee and Immigrants will arrange for the National Guard to pick up the mail twice a week and transfer the time sensitive mail to the immigrants. The National Guard will pick-up mail addressed to the families formerly staying at your hotel two times per week. Please contact Cassandra Pierre-Louis at 978-660-8124 or email cassandra.pierre[1]louis@mass.gov with questions. A second point of contact in case Cassandra is out is Irma Flores at the Office for Refugee and Immigrants. You can reach Irma by email at Irma.flores@mass.gov or by cell at 617-802-1533. Again, we will arrange for pickup from any mail sent to immigrants and will send to their new location. We ask you kindly to inform your staff in-charge of the mail, to put these documents aside. Sincerely yours, 2 Susan Church Chief Operating Officer Office for Refugee and Immigrants. 3 To: Hotel Owner From: Massachusetts Office for Refugee and Immigrants Re: Immigrant mail after transfer to other shelters.
