Great Island Homeowners Association, Applicant

Dear Brittany:
On behalf of our client, the Great Island Homeowners Association (GIHA), we are submitting the following
supplemental information for the above referenced Notice of Intent (NOI) application:
• Revised Project Description, revision date 9/12/2024
• New Plan Set Sheet 3 entitled “Revised Design for Roadway Protection and Rebuilding of Primary Coastal
Dune Along South Area at Great Island Road, West Yarmouth, MA”, with revision date 9/12/2024
The proposed revisions to the project have been incorporated to address the Commission’s comments at the last
public hearing held on August 15, 2024. The revisions include replacing the south section of existing geotextile sand
bags with a fiber roll array that uses biodegradable materials. The Commission indicated they would prefer to see
this section of the geotextile sand bags replaced with a biodegradable solution, as it has been difficult to maintain
sand cover over this section of sand bags.
The revised project description includes a description of the proposed alterations to the south section of the
geotextile bags, as well as plans to beneficially reuse sediment from the permitted Sweetheart Creek dredge project
for sand cover, and responses to the MA DMF comment letter on the proposed project. See pages B9 to B11 of the
project description for this additional material.

We look forward to presenting the new materials at the upcoming public hearing on September 19, 2024. If you
have any questions or require additional information, please give me a call at 508-495-6225 or send an email to
lfields@woodsholegroup.com.
Sincerely,
Leslie Fields
