The revisions include replacing the south section of existing geotextile sand bags with a fiber roll array that uses biodegradable materials. The Commission indicated they would prefer to see this section of the geotextile sand bags replaced with a biodegradable solution, as it has been difficult to maintain sand cover over this section of sand bags. The revised project description includes a description of the proposed alterations to the south section of the geotextile bags, as well as plans to beneficially reuse sediment from the permitted Sweetheart Creek dredge project for sand cover, and responses to the MA DMF comment letter on the proposed project. See pages B9 to B11 of the project description for this additional material. Page 2 of 2 We look forward to presenting the new materials at the upcoming public hearing on September 19, 2024.
