This clarifies your intentions. I generated my email based on our last discussion; that you were going forward with the
renovations, as proposed on the plans. However, based on this email it sound like you will not be taking that
approach. However, should your plans change, please contact me at that time. Secondly, should you sell the property,
it would be incumbent upon you and the real estate agent to advise the buyer, of the garage use/renovations status, so
that person does note/ Qte-ni
Thanks.

I have tried to find a way to ' ake this work, bu given the changes ov, the last year in the use of this property I
am not going to be able to -ep _ . •.- . . '. . - s I- _ a option. I will likely be listing the house in
the near future and was no r planning to put any changes into the garage given that I am no longer trying to use
that space any more.
I was not aware that I wa. committed to modifying the back regardless of whether I was or wasn't going to use
the space. I do not have e money to hire a licensed contractor at his time. I thought the plans we reviewed
were necessary if I was going to make personal use of the space as an additional bedroom, which as of right
now, I am not. ram r" / -<

One note of record was t at I did meet with the health inspector and reviewed the property while I was
considering making the I hanges immediately after our discussion. There were no concerns from a health
perspective. Not sure if hat is relevant or not given my intent to sell, but wanted to correct your records.
Should we meet? Again feel like out of the blue I am being approached as not following up per our plans,
when I had a different unserstanding of my options open to me and what my commitments were based on our

meetink. I do not want you to think I am ignoring the situation, I am just halting my use of the space and didn't

adjustments to the space even though I am not using it,then let's discuss what my options are.

This it to serve as a follow up to our last conversation of January 2, 2020 at which time you stated your tenants
had vacated the garage. In addition my notes of October 3, 2019, reflecting that I had reviewed the proposed
floor plans, you had submitted depicting proposed physical mitigation of the former garage. During our
conversation of October 3, 2019 and on various other occasions, I instructed you to:
-Have a person who holds a MA Construction Supervisor's License and a Home Improvement Registration
apply for a Building Permit.
-Check with Wiring Inspector Ken Elliott and Plumbing/Gas Inspector Lee Hall as to what measures you
need to take concerning their areas of jurisdiction.
As of today I see that neither a permit has been applied submitted to this department and you have failed to
speak with Inspectors Elliott and Hall. As a result I am giving you until March 27, 2020 to accomplish
obtaining a Building Permit and you have contacted these inspectors.
As you recall, I issued two tickets totaling $700. During the course of earlier conversations, I started I would
place these in abeyance, providing you proceeded in good faith. Based on this failure to follow these
orders, it is my opinion you have not done so.

Deputy Building Commissioner
