Hi all,
I haven't heard back from anyone since my last email. I am going to be coming down to Town Hall on
Monday, should I work with anyone in specific to clear things up?

Hi all,
I just received a new violation notice AND fines today which has me a bit concerned and confused. Per our
last meeting on June 27th we determined that the way forward will be to appeal the violation. Coming from
that meeting I had a few takeaways to complete this process:
1. The appeal form, which I have had filled in prior to our last meeting and sent to everyone on the 26th.
2. Addition of the 2nd level to the drawings of the floor plans (which I have complete since our meeting)
3. The appeal payment, in form of check, which I have ready to submit
4. The appeal date, which I needed to follow-up and get my case included in the upcoming agenda
I have been travelling for work and was unable to meet again in July, but will be on Cape next week. I was
planning on turning in all paperwork and payments during my visit but wanted to reach out immediately since
next week seems to be too late.
I don't believe that the fines are necessary when I have actively been responding to the requests being made in
each of our meetings. The impending fines were not discussed in our meeting and I thought that us engaging
in review of my appeal and my actively working to submit the appeal was sufficient forward progress and
nothing in the meeting seemed to indicate contrary to that, Further, I was ready to submit my appeal well in
advance of our meeting in June but was asked to come back in to meet again. I apologize if I misunderstood
the situation but I assure you and I working to move this forward as quickly as possible.
I tried reaching each of you today, but everyone was out of the office, so I am logging this officially to show
my response.
Please feel free to give me a call or reply here on what date options I have available to present my appeal to the
board. Further, can we please waive the fines as I feel that I've been very responsive and active in addressing
all asks that have been put upon me to conclude this issue?
Thanks for your time, as always, and I look forward to your response,
Brian

That would be great, thank you. When are you available for an appointment? I'm here through tomorrow if
that will work, otherwise I can schedule to come back.

Mark, Sandi,
I've included my appeal, as we discussed, to this email. I'll be in town this week (Wednesday/Thursday) if
you'd like to meet again to discuss next steps. If you think the appeal is in order I can drop off the check
for the appeal application and postage.
Let me know,

Mark,
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today on the violation notice. Per our discussion I can
either take up he appeals process for the unit, turn away the renter, or remove the "dwelling" status of the
building.
I am going to start the appeals process at this time. I will schedule a meeting soon with you or James and
will make arrangements to review my appeal with you before putting this on the agenda for the next board
meeting.
I appreciate the time you've given to me today and back in November around this issue.

Thank you Jim.
I am appealing per our conversation on the 27th of June. I just needed to document the 2nd floor per your
recommendation, which is now done and ready for submission.
Who should I submit everything to on Monday?

I will not be in the office on Monday, however,Building Commissioner Mark Grylls will be here. In short, you need to
take one of two step at this point---abandon the use of the unit or apply for a variance with the Zoning Board of
Appeals, when you come in on Monday. It is imperative you take this action immediately. You also have the right to
appeal this decision to the Board within thirty days, pursuant to the provisions of MGL,Chapter 40A,Section 8 and 15.
